As we look forward to welcoming our patrons and artists back, the health and safety of our community will continue to be highest priority. We are committed to following the guidance of leading public health agencies. In accordance with these guidelines and industry best practices we are instituting the following protocols:
The State Theatre has been working with public health agencies to stay updated on safety guidance policies to develop a comprehensive plan to keep our guests, staff, and artists as safe as possible.
Our HVAC systems have been programmed to increase ventilation based on public health guidelines. In addition to this, our lobby doors will be kept open during patron entry and exit time periods.
Hand sanitizer will be available to all patrons throughout the building. The auditorium, restrooms, and all other a common areas will be regularly sanitized.
The State Theatre is committed to following local, state, and federal guidelines regarding public health. As we monitor the evolving Covid-19 situation in Centre County, we’ll be revisiting the below steps and policies. Please contact us at boxoffice@thestatetheatre.org with any questions.
The State Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to entertain, enrich, educate, and inspire the residents of Centre County and beyond. COVID-19 has put the State Theatre under tremendous burden as we find ourselves unable to open our doors to the public and needing to reschedule our programming. We’ve recently adjusted our refund policy to reflect the impacts that those schedule changes may have on our patrons.
Every donation that we get right now goes a long way toward sustaining our operations during this period. Please consider, if you’re able, rather than taking a cash refund, donating the value of your ticket(s) to support our non-profit mission. These donations are sustaining for us.
If you’re eligible for a refund based on the below criteria, and would like a cash refund, please contact us at boxoffice@thestatetheatre.org.
All sales are final; the State Theatre does not provide cash refunds for previously purchased tickets except under certain circumstances as described below. If you know 24 hours in advance of an event that you can no longer attend the event you’ve purchased tickets to, you may call the Box Office at 814.272.0606 x301 to see if exchanges are available for that specific event.
The State Theatre commits to keeping its Covid-19 policies and procedures regularly updated at our Covid-19 Event Updates page. From time to time, we may have event-specific requirements from renters or artists. We’ll communicate those changes directly with ticket buyers as soon as we can, as well as post them publicly on the individual event page.
If you, or members of your party, are unable to comply with Covid-19 requirements for a presentation, please contact us at boxoffice@thestatetheatre.org as soon as possible to inquire about a refund. Refund requests must be received no later than 24 hours before event start time.
The State Theatre produces and presents the majority of events that take place in the Friedman Auditorium and Attic. If you’re unsure whether you’ve bought tickets to a State Theatre-produced event or a 3rd party rental, please feel free to get in touch with us at boxoffice@thestatetheatre.org.

The State Theatre stages events throughout the year that are rentals by third party presenters. If you’re unsure whether you’ve bought tickets to a State Theatre-produced event or a 3rd party rental, please feel free to get in touch with us at boxoffice@thestatetheatre.org.
All ticket and package purchases will be honored for rescheduled events, but if the date does not work with your calendar, our box office will issue credits. Or, you can donate the price of the ticket (a deductible gift) to The State Theatre.
