Since 2000, LUNAFEST has been flipping the script, creating opportunities for women in film. Talented women directors bring stories from all over the world. Sharing new perspectives, lighting a fire in the industry. LUNAFEST is a fundraising film festival dedicated to promoting awareness about women’s issues, highlighting women filmmakers, and bringing women together in their communities.

This unique film festival highlights women as leaders in society, illustrated through eight short films by women filmmakers. The films range from animation to fictional drama, and cover topics such as women’s health, body image, relationships, cultural diversity and breaking barriers.

Films featured in LUNAFEST are not rated but we suggest age 14+ for this season’s lineup. The 2020 Season features seven (7) short films with a total program running time of 96 minutes.

All proceeds from LUNAFEST will benefit Centre Safe, The State Theatre, and Chicken & Egg Pictures, a nonprofit organization that supports women nonfiction filmmakers whose artful and innovative storytelling catalyzes social change. Thus far, LUNAFEST, which is created and funded by LUNA®, The Whole Nutrition Bar, has raised more than $5 Million for nonprofit organizations across the US and Canada.
