The countdown to Centre Gives is well underway and we are depending on you to help us reach our goals again this year! With the success of recent year’s campaigns, The State Theatre was able to install a brand new 4K Digital Projection system and we can’t thank you enough!
This year’s Centre Gives is the first step in our campaign to update our production equipment, with a focus on procuring new audio consoles. Centre Gives is May 6th & 7th and there are a lot of different ways that you can help support The State during Centre Gives and beyond.
Your support is crucial to our mission as the premier destination for professional live music and movies in Downtown State College.
The State Theatre is a cultural destination and economic driver, drawing more than 40,000 people downtown each year through live events, film, and community programming.
On May 6th – 7th, 2026 The State Theatre will be participating in Centre Gives, a 36-hour online giving event for non-profits making a difference in Centre County. The State Theatre is a nonprofit performing arts center committed to using our passion for performance, creativity, and inclusivity to support our community through the performing arts.
Starting at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6th and ending at 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 7th, anyone can give a gift to the State Theatre through Centre Gives at this secure link. You can also call Centre Gives directly to donate at (814) 237-6229.
The State Theatre cannot provide membership benefits for any Centre Gives donations due to campaign and IRS regulations.

Centre Gives recently lowered the minimum donation amount to $10; we are excited that this change will remain in place!
During Centre Gives, every dollar donated to local organizations will be stretched by a $300,000 stretch pool and $200,000 bonus stretch pool provided by Centre Foundation and the Hamer Foundation. Your donations through Centre Gives may also help your favorite organizations win additional prizes throughout the event!
Centre Gives is a unique, online giving event designed to encourage community giving and to support the great work of Centre County nonprofits during 36 hours – starting at 8:00 am on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026 and ending at 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 7th, 2026.
This exciting community giving event is hosted by Centre Foundation and supported by our community impact funds and partnerships with local businesses.
