The nearest ADA parking spaces are located in the Fraser Street and Beaver Avenue Garages. Please be advised that accessible spaces are first come, first served upon arrival. Wheelchair-accessible elevators are available in the parking garages.
Beaver Garage (200 W Beaver Avenue): Spaces are located by the lobby elevators, facing the Hyatt Place, on every level of the facility. Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) only metered spaces are also available before entering the gated access area, on the ground level of the facility, in front of the Hertz Rental Car office.
Fraser Garage (135 S Fraser Street): Spaces are located by the Fraser Street elevator, facing the Hyatt Place, on the ascending levels of the facility and near the north side elevator on the descending level before the exit gates.

The Friedman Auditorium at The State Theatre is wheelchair-accessible from its main and stage entrances. Entrances are at sidewalk level (no steps). The left most outer doors are mechanized, with an ADA Push Button located between the poster displays immediately on the left. There is a loading zone directly in front of the theatre for convenient pick up and drop off.
The Attic at The State Theatre is wheelchair-accessible by elevator, located just inside the lobby to the left near the Box Office.
A wheelchair-accessible restroom is available in the lobby of the State Theatre.
The State Theatre provides barrier-free access for patrons who rely on wheelchairs, walkers, canes, and other mobility devices via on-grade entrances, and ADA compliant doors. Patrons may request to have their mobility devices stored during performances. A staff member or volunteer usher will return your aid to you at the end of the performance. If you'll need assistance during intermission, please inform State Theatre staff before the show begins.
Both of our venues, The Friedman Auditorium, and The Attic, have wheelchair-accessible seating locations.
The Friedman Auditorium: Wheelchair accessible and companion seating is available on the main floor of the auditorium. Accessible seats are located at H1, H3, H5, H7, and R2, R4, and R6. Transfer seats (one arm of the seat flips up) are located at: G101, G113, N101, and N115. Please note, the balcony seating can only be accessed by stairs.
The Attic: Seating layouts will vary by performance. Guests with accessibility needs are invited to contact the box office (boxoffice@thestatetheatre.org), or call (814) 272-0606) with questions.
These accessible locations include stair-free access and either open space to accommodate a variety of mobility devices, or an upholstered, loose chair can be provided.
Assistive listening devices that provide audio description via headphones are available for select films in the Friedman Auditorium. There are 2 devices in total, and they are available free of charge at the box office upon arrival. Driver's licenses are requested as a security deposit.
Audio description is recorded commentary that describes important visual details in a film that cannot be understood from the soundtrack alone. Please note, only some films are configured for these devices. When a film screened at The State Theatre is configured for assistive listening devices, this symbol will appear on the film event webpage.
Guests are invited to call ahead to confirm whether your movie of interest supports assistive listening, or you may check the individual film web listening for the above symbol.
Closed caption eyewear devices are available for select film screenings. There are 2 devices in total and they are available free of charge at the box office upon arrival. Driver's license are requested as a security deposit.
