Writer-director Cameron Crowe drew from his own extraordinary teenage experiences for this vivid and heartfelt 1970s-set coming-of-age odyssey, which follows fifteen-year-old William Miller (Patrick Fugit), whose writing talent and earnest passion for rock music earns him an assignment for legendary music magazine “Rolling Stone,” interviewing and touring with up-and-coming rock band Stillwater. Penny Lane (Kate Hudson) is the young groupie who guides him through the wild world of rock heroes, all-night parties, and the most dangerous new experience of all—love.
