Ruth has built a dedicated fanbase, touring both as a solo artist and as a founding and current member of the folk trio The Wailin’ Jennys. She has garnered two Juno Awards, countless nominations and accolades, topped Billboard charts, and performed to rapt audiences in sold-out venues around the globe.
Ruth’s solo albums “The Garden” and “These Wilder Things” received glowing reception from fans and critics alike. Her collaborations with the legendary Mark Knopfler on “These Wilder Things” and his albums “Privateering” and “Tracker” brought her voice to millions of music lovers world-wide, and saw her performing in Europe and the UK in dream venues such as The Royal Albert Hall, both as a support act and as a featured guest with Mark’s band. A respected and accomplished songwriter, Ruth’s songs often sound traditional, tapping into timeless and universal themes, but hold an intimacy and honesty that is unmistakably hers. They have won awards, appeared in film and television, and have been performed by countless choirs and ensembles.
Ruth has recently completed a new solo album, to be released in 2024. She splits her time between Vancouver Island and Nashville, TN, and when she is not on the road with her band or The Wailin’ Jennys, she spends her time writing, hiking, and keeping up with her six year-old son.

Mark Knopfler, Bruce Hornsby, Allison Russell, Rodney Crowell, Aoife O’Donovan, The Fretless, Anthony da Costa, Rose Cousins, Front Country, Robby Hecht, Della Mae, Alexa Wildish, Oh Susanna
